Wondering what to do in Cabo? Here are some suggestions on cool things to do on your next Cabo vacation.

Los Cabos is a Mexican municipality made up of two towns - Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Located at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula, it is part desert landscape, part beach resort haven, with a beautiful mountainous backdrop tying it all together. To say that Los Cabos is one of the most unique vacation destinations on the planet is to state the obvious. Tourists from all over the world flock to this popular region, be it for the rich cultural attractions of San Jose del Cabo or the lively beach resort vibe of Cabo San Lucas. With a destination as exceptionally diverse as Los Cabos, it can be difficult to decide what to do first.

Luckily, we have a few suggestions on Cool Things To Do When Visiting Los Cabos:

Spot a Whale
Whale Watching

Baja California is considered a home away from home for Humpback Whales and Gray Whales. The warm waters of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean attract the majestic beasts, who migrate down every winter in order to mate and give birth. You can find numerous boat tours that offer whale watching excursions in Cabo San Lucas. Check with your hotel concierge for recommendations. Believe me, you won’t want to miss the chance to see one of these larger-than-life creatures up close.

Play Golf

Los Cabos has quickly become one of the world’s finest destinations for golf. Considering the first course in the region opened only 30 years ago, that is quite an achievement. Fast forward to 2019 and the area boasts some of the premier golf courses on the planet, designed by notable names such as Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Tiger Woods. If you’re keen on playing at these high-end courses the rates may set you back a bit, but there are plenty of affordable options for the budget-conscious traveler as well.

Eat Delicious Food

Whether you want to experiment with traditional local cuisine or enjoy a variety of international restaurants, Los Cabos has plenty to offer for the foodie in you. From local delicacies such as chocolate clams and smoked marlin, to more popular Mexican dishes such as fish tacos, there is no shortage of delicious dining options in Los Cabos. Don’t forget to wash down your meal with a glass of damiana liquor, a sweet, herbal beverage made by the Guaycara Indians that is said to be a strong aphrodisiac (thank me later, fellas).

Party!

If you’re anything like me, you prefer a night of dinner, cocktails and good conversation over loud music and dancing. That said, I am also down for the occasional turn up (do people still say that?) and Cabo San Lucas, with its wild, energetic nightlife scene, is the perfect place to let loose. Whether you’re enjoying live entertainment at Squid Row, or cutting up a rug (okay, people definitely don’t say that) at Blue Marlin Ibiza, there is a variety of different nightlife spots in Cabo to suit your particular tastes.

Swim at Medano Beach
Medano Beach Swimming

If having fun-in-the-sun is your ideal type of vacation, you’d be remiss not to visit Medano Beach, one of the few swimmable beaches in the Los Cabos area. While most of the outlying beaches in the region are breathtakingly beautiful, they are potentially dangerous to swim in due to the strong rip currents. Stretching several miles from Cabo San Lucas Bay to Villa del Palmar, Medano Beach is a great spot to enjoy water activities such as swimming and jet skiing, or more laid back fare such as sunbathing and people watching.

Visit El Arco
El Arco De Cabo

And finally, the most prominent Cabo landmark - El Arco de Cabo San Lucas. No list of things to do in Los Cabos would be complete without including this world famous limestone rock formation. This picturesque stone arch has become synonymous with Cabo San Lucas and is a must-see destination for travelers from all over the world. While the Arch isn’t accessible by land, there are a number of boat taxis in Cabo that would be happy to take you there for a small fee.
