Try these basic workouts to help you maintain that vacation body during your time off.

Often times when booking a vacation, making sure your hotel is equipped with a gym is not among our highest priorities. Yes, vacations should be about relaxing and having a good time, but you also don’t want to sacrifice all the hard work you’ve done at the gym all year. While it would be ideal to find a hotel or resort that has a fitness center, it is not necessarily a requirement if you want to stay in shape. Here are 5 simple bodyweight exercises that will help you remain fit during your vacation.

Squat
The squat is arguably the most important of all lower-body exercises. The great thing is, you don’t need any weights to get a great workout doing squats. Keep your feet shoulder width apart and remember to concentrate on your glutes and thighs.

Plank
We all remember the annoying “Plank Challenge” craze on social media a few years ago, but don’t let that deter you from utilizing this core bodyweight exercise. There are many variations of planking, but they all involve holding your body in one position for an extended amount of time.

Push Ups
Push ups are a great way to build upper body strength. When executed correctly, they work the pectoral muscles, triceps, shoulders and even lower back and core. Make sure your hands are shoulder-width apart, and your back is straight. It might help to think of the push up as a moving plank.

Lunge
Lunges are also great lower-body exercises. To perform a lunge, step forward with one leg while lowering the opposite knee as close to the ground as you can.

Lying Leg Raise
What’s a good vacation workout if you’re not working on toning your abs, amirite? Lying leg raises are a great exercise to obtain and maintain that killer beach bod we all desire come summertime. Do 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps each and repeat daily!
